COVID- 19 

Daventry Veterinary Clinic is committed to continuing to care for our patients during the coronavirus outbreak. We will be implementing changes to protect both our staff and our clients whilst looking after your pets needs. Please help us to do so by adhering to new systems we are putting in place. These could change rapidly and will be updated here. There will also be information on caring for your pets.

Update March 24th 2020

Further to advice from the British Veterinary Association we are no longing seeing any routine consultations and carrying out any routine procedures. After the prime minister’s announcement last night we are awaiting further clarification. If you are concerned about your pets health please telephone us on 01327 877767 do not come to the surgery. If you have ordered medication or have an appointment booked we will contact you.

Update March 23rd 2020

Firstly if you have a fever, a new cough, are self isolating please do not come to the surgery. Please do not bring a pet to the surgery from a house where someone is self isolating. Telephone us on 01327 877767 and we will tell you what to do. Do not worry we will still be able to care for your pets.

If you are a vulnerable person and have no one to bring your pet to us or to collect medication please let us know.

Help us to decrease contact time and increase social distances

  1. If you are coming to the surgery for an appointment with your pet.

    • Please make dogs has a secure fitting lead or harness and that cats and small mammals are in secure carriers.
    • Please text us on 07944269319 when you arrive stating your name, your pets name, car make and colour.
    • The vet or nurse will telephone you to discuss your pets consultation
    • The vet  or nurse will then collect your pet from you, and take them into the surgery for examination and treatment.
    • Please follow the vet or nurses instructions
    • Treatments will be discussed on the phone.
    • Your pet will be returned to you along with any medication.
    • Payment will be taken over the phone.
  2. Euthanasia

    • We appreciate that many owners wish to be with their pets at this time and we will look at each one individually to allow this whilst adhering to social distancing and current government guidelines.
  3. Repeat prescriptions

    • Please order a week in advance as we are getting less frequent deliveries
    • We will phone you when your pets prescription is ready to collect and take payment over the phone, and arrange a collection slot.
    • When you come to collect please text us on 07944269319 when you arrive stating your name, your pets name, car make and colour and that you are collecting medication.
    • One of us will bring out the medication
  4. Everything else

    • Please do not come to the surgery without prior arrangement. Telephone us first.

  1. If you are coming to the surgery for an appointment with your pet as our waiting area is quite small
    • Please text us on 07944269319 when you arrive stating your name, your pets name, car make and colour. The vet or nurse will come and get you and your pet for your appointment. If you are unable to text please let reception know you are here and then wait in your car.
    • Only one human per appointment please
    • Please use the hand sanitiser which is on reception.
    • Please don’t be offended when we ask you to stand back during the consultation. The vet or nurse will let you know what they want to do.
    • After your appointment please wait until reception calls you forward to hand out medication and for payment.
    • If you are a vulnerable person and do not wish to come into the building just let us know. We can examine your pet without you and discuss treatments over the phone while you wait in your car. We will then bring your pet and any medication they need out to you.
  2. If you are coming to the surgery for anything else
    • please keep a metre between you and other clients and wait outside if necessary.
    • If you prefer you can wait in your car and text us on 07944269319 with your name and let us know what you are here for.
    • Please use the hand sanitiser which is on reception.
  3. We now have the facilities for video consultations and you will be offered these if appropriate for your pet and their needs.
  4. Please give us more notice if you can for repeat prescriptions.
